About the Fund
Overview
The reason I started this fund is simple and probably not all-together unique; I see all the problems and issues in the world and I want to do something to help.
I also had another idea, what if I focused on creating a sustainable, a perpetual, source of income. That's how I came up with the second facet of the fund. All of the money I put in to the fund gets invested into assets that generate a constant and predictable source of income. That pool of income is what is used to help.
My current viewpoint of how to use that income is the following. I will find a charitable cause and then, to the best of my ability, find locally owned and produced items to fulfill that cause. I feel that this gives the maximum amount of benefit to the local economy while also giving benefit to those in need.
Current State
As of November 2024, the fund controls nearly $1,400 in assets and generates ~$5.60 a month in income. In total it has donated $56.06, one donation to the Daily Bread Food Bank and one to Pumpkin's Acres.
Future Goals
Obviously it's very small and the current benefits are also small. Up to this point my only source of income has been whatever I can contribute, which due to my current underemployment, has been scant. My main goal at this point is to find alternative sources of investment in order to provide more income.
